J. Gray
McAllisterIII MD, Doctor of Medicine, joined Carolina
Partners in 2001. He earned his BS and MD degrees from the University
of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He finished his psychiatric residency as a fellow in child psychiatry at Harvard's Children's Hospital and Judge Baker Guidance Center. He was a Captain/psychiatrist in the U.S. Army, serving at the Valley Forge General Hospital.
Since completing his residency, Dr. McAllister has continuously been in the private practice of psychiatry as well as working in state hospitals, mental health clinics and private psychiatric hospitals. In addition, he started the inpatient psychiatric units at two hospitals in North Carolina.
He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the North Carolina Psychiatric Association and the Raleigh Academy of Medicine.

NC office, Dr. McAllister treats all ages and specializes in medication management for affective disorders, psychotic
disorders, anxiety disorders and attention deficit disorders.
