Ms. Simpson earned her Master of Social Work degree from Howard University in Washington, DC. She previously worked as a social worker at the National Center for Children and Families, and as a counselor at The Children’s Guild, in Washington, DC, where she was awarded the Brave Heart Medal. She recently earned her Health Coaching Certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and utilizing mindfulness practices in psychotherapy. Ms. Simpson is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She treats ages 18 to 65 in the Durham Counseling Center and through our telehealth platform DirectCare, where she specializes in Anxiety Disorders, Depression, ADHD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Health Coaching, and Life Coaching.
