  • Irvin D. Milowe
    MD, Doctor of Medicine, joined Carolina Partners in 2009.  Dr. Milowe earned his BA from Columbia University and his MD from Cornell University.  He continued his post graduate education with a Fellowship in Child Psychiatry at University of Cincinnati, as a Career Development Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health, and with several post graduate Certificates in Psychotherapy and Forensic Examinations, to name a few.  Dr. Milowe has been in private practice for over forty years.  He has also worked as CEO, Director of Forensic Services and Medical Director of Edgemoore Mental Health Services, as Director of Psychotherapy and Psychotherapy Training for the Psycho-educational Institute at the Children's Hospital National Medical Center in Washington D.C., and as Chief of Psychiatry at both USPHS Hospital and HEW Mental Health Services Center.  Dr. Milowe is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, was awarded the Plaque of Honor for 25 Years of Dedicated Service by George Washington University and was appointed to the Physicians' Committee for the Performing Arts at the JFK Center in Washington, D.C.  He is widely published and has presented at academic and psychiatric conferences on topics such as child abuse, developmental disabilities, adoption, counter-transference, and many more.  Dr. Milowe treats ages 10 and up at our Durham, NC office, where he specializes in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry, psychotherapy, forensic examinations and worker's compensation evaluations.
